"Although born in Montana in 1961, I was fortunate to live in many states across the US and even overseas. My travels afforded me the opportunity to encounter many different customs, practices, sounds, tastes, and colors to name a few. These experiences helped open my mind to see many aspects of the world around us.
I am a self-taught multidisciplinary artist who has used all varieties of paint as well as pencils and charcoal, photography, collage, wire, and clay. My art has been shown in five different galleries and forums for over five decades. My first significant recognition as an artist was as a 12-year-old when I won 2nd place with my submission of a still life in watercolor as part of a city-wide art show of all ages and mediums in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. A graduate of the University of Montana achieving both a BS and MS, both in Technical Communications, I went on to become a professor where I created my own curriculum that included the creation of graphics, logos, brochures, and websites. In my professional life, I often used my artistic skills and eye to plan and create campaigns and materials to support the growth of nonprofits in the role of Executive Director. Now, I am back in NYC creating art full-time in many new mediums as I continue to explore new opportunities to increase my skills.
